Existing Conditions
The existing jail is generally in good condition and continues to support current operations. However, several areas have been identified with issues relating to space limitations, aging building components, equipment needs, and operational constraints.

The following photos document these existing conditions. Many of these needs would become more significant if inmate capacity increases, as additional population would place greater demands on booking and intake, food service, laundry, property and supply storage, parking, and other building systems and operational areas.

The existing sally port can accommodate only two squad cars at a time. When multiple vehicles arrive, additional vehicles must wait for access, which can delay the transfer of individuals into the facility, extend the time law enforcement personnel and vehicles remain on site, and create backups in the booking and intake process.

The sally port lacks dedicated storage for equipment and accessory items.

The county could develop lot across Main Street for additional parking and storage.
