Voter Pre-Registration Deadline

You can stop in at the Auditor's office between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday) to register until Monday October 19, 2026. After this date you may register and vote in the Auditor's Office until November 2, 2026 or vote at the polls on November 3, 2026.

Ballot Question

“Shall the county of Wapello, state of Iowa, issue its general obligation bonds or capital loan notes in an amount not exceeding the amount of $45,000,000 for the purpose of designing, erecting, reconstructing, extending, equipping, and furnishing of the existing jail facility including expansion of the existing jail facility and related grounds and site improvements?”

All voting locations will be open from 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM. You must vote in the precinct in which you live. Reminder: Voter ID is required.

Absentee Vote

​

• October 19, 2026 - Last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed (open until 5:00 PM)

• November 2, 2026 - Last day to vote in-person absentee ballot in the auditor's office (open until 4:30 PM)

• November 3, 2026 - Requested absentee ballots must be received in auditor's office by 8:00 PM
